On June 3, a delegation from the Department of Electrical Engineering of North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), including Party Secretary Peng Zhongjun, Deputy Directors Zhao Xiaojun and Liu Hechen, and Youth League Secretary Cui Shuai, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University. The delegation was received by Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of the Department; Wu Wenchuan, Deputy Party Secretary; and Deputy Heads of the Department Lu Chao and Chen Laijun, among others. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Zedong.

Liu Hechen provided a systematic overview of the Department of Electrical Engineering at North China Electric Power University, covering its development history, Party building and ideological education, talent cultivation system, faculty development, key research directions, landmark achievements, and overall departmental progress. Lu Chao introduced the Department’s talent cultivation initiatives, including the new residential college-based education model, the fundamental framework for graduate education, and innovative achievements such as Dianyuan 1.0, an AI-powered disciplinary knowledge engine for electrical engineering. Chen Laijun introduced the Department’s integrated five-pillar research system. Centered on the strategic framework of “One Department, Two Institutes, One Laboratory, and One Alliance,” he highlighted the Department’s initiatives and achievements in research team development, commercialization of scientific research achievements, and international research collaboration.

During the discussion session, the two sides engaged in candid exchanges on topics including the development of research platforms, innovation in talent cultivation models, implementation of the residential college education system, and the deep integration of Party building with academic and administrative work, jointly exploring pathways for future development.
Both leaders delivered concluding remarks. Peng Zhongjun expressed his sincere appreciation for the Department’s longstanding support and assistance. He highly commended its exemplary achievements in disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and scientific innovation, and expressed the hope that the two departments would continue to deepen regular exchanges, establish diversified cooperation platforms, leverage complementary strengths, share resources, and pursue coordinated development. Zheng Zedong stated that the two departments would continue to strengthen communication and collaboration, further consolidate cooperation in joint disciplinary development, collaborative talent cultivation, and integrated scientific research, and work together to elevate the quality of electrical engineering discipline development and high-level talent cultivation.
