To promote the connection, exchange, and development of postdoctoral alumni from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), strengthen the alumni association, and unite alumni efforts, EEA established the Postdoctoral Alumni Fellowship during the 2024 Annual Meeting of Tsinghua University EEA Alumni on November 30. In front of nearly 200 alumni, Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA and Head of the EEA Postdoctoral Research Station, Professor Wang Lizhe, Vice President of China University of Geosciences and alumni representative, Professor Li Yongdong, representative of the first postdoctoral alumni from the EEA, and Associate Professor Mei Hongwei, representative of the younger postdoctoral alumni and Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Tsinghua EEA Alumni Association, jointly unveiled the "EEA Postdoctoral Alumni Fellowship."

The unveiling ceremony was hosted by Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of EEA. He stated that the establishment of the Postdoctoral Alumni Fellowship would become an important platform for connecting postdoctoral alumni and supporting their development, and encouraged more postdoctoral alumni to join the organization’s work.
Alumni are key carriers of the university’s culture and spirit and vital forces in advancing talent development and training. Since the first postdoctoral fellow entered the Department in 1986, the department has seen more than 450 postdoctoral alumni, who are highly innovative and professionally skilled. Many have gone on to work at leading universities, enterprises, research institutes, and national agencies, contributing significantly to the country’s educational and technological advancement. The establishment of the Postdoctoral Alumni Fellowship will provide an excellent platform for postdoctoral alumni to collaborate, innovate, and exchange ideas. It will also inject new vitality into the development of the Department’s alumni association. Looking ahead, the Postdoctoral Research Station and the Postdoctoral Alumni Fellowship will offer more high-quality services and support to current postdocs and alumni.
