From November 8 to 10, the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Electrical Energy Conversion Systems and Control (IEEE IEECSC 2024), organized by Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and IEEE, was successfully held in Shanghai. Over 300 domestic and international experts and scholars from 16 countries and regions participated in the conference. Professor Xiao Xi from Tsinghua University and Professor Gao Qiang from Shanghai Jiao Tong University served as the conference co-chairs. The event attracted renowned scholars and industry experts from around the world to discuss basic research, key technologies, frontier directions, and engineering applications in the field of power conversion.

The conference featured keynote speeches from distinguished speakers, including Thomas M. Jahns, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and IEEE Fellow, Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Faz Rahman, IEEE Life Fellow and Honorary Professor at the University of New South Wales, Australia; Chen Zhe, member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, European Academy of Sciences and Arts, IEEE/IET Fellow, and Professor at Aalborg University, Denmark; Xu Wei, IEEE Fellow and Professor at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Qi Li, IEEE Fellow, former Chief Scientist at ABB USA, and Professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University; and Zhu Jizhong, IEEE/IET/CSEE/AAIA/AIIA Fellow and Professor at South China University of Technology. The keynote speeches were hosted by Professor Qu Ronghai, IEEE Fellow and Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The experts focused on sharing cutting-edge technologies and engineering practices in the areas of motor systems and power conversion.
The conference set up seven specialized sub-sessions, featuring multiple discussions and poster presentations. It also awarded the Best Paper Award (5 winners), Best Industrial Paper Award (2 winners), Best Oral Presentation Award (5 winners), and Best Poster Presentation Award (8 winners). Doctoral students Xu Hang and Han Yifei from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), Tsinghua University received the Best Paper Award and Best Oral Presentation Award, respectively.
