On March 21, Kang Chongqing, Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), Tsinghua University, and his entourage paid a visit to SPIC Yuanda Environmental Protection Co., Ltd., and held a symposium with Peng Shuangqun, director, general manager, and deputy secretary of the party committee of Yuanda Environmental Protection, and Zhang Xiaohui, member of the party committee and deputy general manager (in a video form) on deepening scientific research cooperation between the two sides.

Visit the exhibition hall

Kang Chongqing and his entourage visited the exhibition hall of Yuanda Environmental Protection Company, and learned about the history of Yuanda Environmental Protection and the development in carbon capture and utilization, desulfurization of power plants and soil remediation in recent years, as well as the Yuanda’s construction of technological innovation platform and future plan.

At the symposium

In the symposium, personnel from both sides introduced the basic situation respectively, and carried out in-depth discussions and exchanges on environmental protection management, carbon capture, energy storage and battery recycling of power plants.

Peng Shuangqun pointed out that Yuanda Environmental Protection will adhere to the idea of integration and intersection, and fully utilize the characteristics of a central enterprise and regional characteristics of Yuanda Environmental Protection. He hoped to promote enterprise upgrading and enterprise talent cultivating by cooperating with Tsinghua University, and looked forward to broad cooperation in the future.

Kang Chongqing pointed out that Yuanda Environmental Protection has a good platform for innovation and engineering practice in the dual-carbon field, and there is a huge space for cooperation between the two sides. He hoped that in the future, the university-enterprise cooperation platform between Tsinghua University and State Power Investment Corporation can be used for more, wider and deeper exchanges and cooperation on constitution of standards, strategies and policies and construction of bases in the fields of carbon and power.
