From March 21 to 23, the 2023 Boao International Forum on New Power Systems was held in Boao, Hainan. With the theme of “Openness · Cooperation · Sharing, Promoting Low-Carbon, Green Energy Development”, the forum explores the development path of new power systems, draws a blueprint for the construction of new energy systems, looks forward to the future of global energy and power cooperation, promotes economic and social green and low-carbon transformation and development, and serves the goal of “Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”.
Professor Mei Shengwei from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics was invited to give a keynote speech titled “Key New Technologies and Engineering Practices of Compressed Air Energy Storage” at the main forum of the conference held on March 22, introducing the important progress made in the preliminary engineering demonstration of non-supplementary combustion compressed air energy storage and his team’s solutions and latest research results in constant pressure compressed air energy storage technologies.
This forum is hosted by China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. and undertaken by Boao New Power System Association. As the vice-chairman unit of the first council of Boao New Electric Power System Association, EEA participated in the relevant work in the early stage. About 300 people, including people from the National Energy Administration, relevant leaders of the Hainan Provincial Government, relevant academicians, experts from universities, domestic and foreign energy and power organizations, business leaders and representatives, and people from Internet companies and other related industries attended the forum.
