Recently, Lu Zongxiang, an associate professor of Department of Electrical Engineering Tsinghua University was elected an IET Fellow. Zongxiang Lu received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering & Automation and Doctor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University in 1998 and 2002, respectively. At present, he is an associate professor and deputy Director of the Department of Electrical Engineering. His main research fields are wind/solar power generation grid-connected analysis and control, energy and power macro-planning, power system reliability, distributed generation and micro-grid.
Up to now, 15 teachers in Department of Electrical Engineering Tsinghua University have been awarded the title of IET Fellow, and Lu Zongxiang is the first associate professor to be awarded the title.
The IET is the British Institute of Engineering and Technology, which was formed by the British Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the British Institute of Enterprise Engineers (IIE) in early 2006. It now has more than 150,000 members, covering 128 countries worldwide. IET covers a wide range of scientific and technological fields, involving in 60 specialties and a number of new interdisciplinary disciplines. It is the largest comprehensive professional scientific and technological society in Europe and the second largest in the world. It owns INSPEC literature index and more than 70 international journals. IET Fellow is the highest academic honor of IET.
