On September 2, 2018, the biennial International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP) opened at Rzeszow University of Technology, Poland. More than 200 experts from all over the world participated in the meeting. Prof. Zhang Bo of our department won the ICLP Scientific Committee Award for his contribution to the research on the dynamic characteristics of grounding system under lightning stroke.

The International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP) is a largest and oldest international conference in the field of lightning protection. Its Scientific Committee Award is the highest award in the field of international lightning protection. Since 2008, ICLP Scientific Committee has selected scholars who have made outstanding contributions to the scientific and technological progress of lightning protection worldwide. So far, 28 scholars have won awards worldwide. Prof. Zhang Bo is one of the three winners of this session and the second winner in China.
