On the afternoon of June 26, the signing ceremony for the establishment of the Tsinghua University Department of Electrical Engineering Graduate Social Practice Base at China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. was held in Hong Kong. The ceremony was attended by Zhan Xiaohui, Assistant General Manager of China Southern Power Grid Corporation and Director of its Human Resources Department; Zhang Heng, General Manager of China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.; Kang Chongqing, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University; and Yu Zhanqing, Deputy Party Secretary of the Department. Yang Peng, Deputy Director of the China Southern Power Grid Talent Hub (Hong Kong) Office, and Zhong Haiwang, Head of the Graduate Affairs Group of the Department’s Party Committee, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties and exchanged signed copies.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the two sides held discussions on the development of graduate employment and practice bases, the international development of the energy and power sector, and cooperation in talent cultivation. Both parties agreed to leverage the practical scenarios offered by China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong) in overseas power investment, construction, operation, and energy services in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, together with the disciplinary strengths and talent cultivation advantages of Tsinghua University’s Department of Electrical Engineering, to enable graduate students to deepen their professional understanding and enhance their practical capabilities in authentic industrial environments.

Representatives of Both Parties Sign the Agreement

According to the agreement and the planned activities, the two parties will jointly establish a school/department-level graduate employment and practice base named the “Tsinghua University Department of Electrical Engineering Graduate Social Practice Base at China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong).” The base is the first school/department-level graduate employment and practice base established by Tsinghua University in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It represents an important exploration in the University’s graduate employment and practice base initiative and provides new support for expanding internationalized experiential learning opportunities.
