On the registration day, a banner reading “Warmly Welcome New Students” was hung at the entrance of the West Main Building. The teachers and volunteers responsible for registration were fully prepared to provide comprehensive registration services at the entrance. New graduate students received their orientation materials, including the student handbook, graduate student ID, enrollment card, student card, medical examination form, school badge, department T-shirt, and Graduate Student Association recruitment materials, and completed the necessary registration procedures. EEA Dean Prof. Kang Chongqing visited the registration site in the company of EEA Deputy Party Secretary Yu Zhanqing and Head of the Graduate Student Work Group Zhong Haiwang to inspect and guide the orientation work, extend cordial greetings to staff and volunteers, and communicate face-to-face with new students.
The department leadership carefully reviewed the registration process, materials distribution, and consultation guidance, and fully affirmed the orderly conduct of the orientation activities. At the registration desk, teachers spoke warmly with newly registered students, asking questions such as “Where are you from?” and “Are you adapting to the new environment?” and encouraged them to “quickly integrate into the departmental family and embark on a new research journey.” Laughter and joy filled the site, creating a warm atmosphere that eased the students’ initial sense of unfamiliarity.

EEA leadership visits dormitory residents
To gain an in-depth understanding of student accommodation and coordinate with the university’s renovation of older dormitories, EEA Dean Kang Chongqing led a visit to student dormitories following the registration site inspection. Deputy Party Secretary Yu Zhanqing, Head of the Graduate Student Work Group Zhong Haiwang, Student Work Assistant Luo Jiao, Community Center Teacher Wang Xin, and freshman class assistants Pang Jupeng and Xu Yuyan accompanied him. They visited Dormitory Buildings 3, 23, and 28. At each dormitory, the leadership inquired about students’ adaptation to the living environment, carefully inspected furniture, facilities, sanitation, and safety, and patiently listened to students’ feedback. Notably, Building 3 had been Prof. Kang Chongqing’s dormitory during his graduate studies. During the visit, he reflected on the dramatic changes to the dormitory and recalled his own graduate student experience.
When communicating with parents, the department leadership expressed gratitude for their trust and support, stating: “Please rest assured, the department will provide students with excellent learning and living conditions.” Parents responded, “Seeing the school’s thorough consideration and the leaders’ care, we feel very confident about our children studying here.”
