On January 20, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) and the State Key Laboratory of New Type Power System Operation and Control (hereinafter referred to as "State Key Lab") jointly held the first 2025 Party and Administrative Joint Meeting of the department and a coordination meeting for the Power National Key Lab. The meeting took place in Room 2-213 of the West Main Building, with over ten participants, including Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary, and Min Yong, Director of the Power National Key Lab. The meeting was chaired by Kang Chongqing.

At the meeting

Min Yong provided a detailed update on the progress of the lab's strategic planning, talent team development, and implementation of supporting policies. He also identified several urgent issues in the lab's construction that require immediate resolution. He emphasized that addressing these challenges is crucial for the lab's long-term development and called for joint efforts and coordinated actions from all parties involved.

Members of the Party and Administrative Joint Meeting of EEA and participants from the Power National Key Lab engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics, including: Optimization of laboratory resource allocation in coordination with the department’s experimental resources; Multi-faceted approaches to talent development for the lab’s research teams; Efficient research project application and management through bidirectional interaction; Flexible coordination of graduate student resources across different research fields. Attendees contributed constructive opinions and suggestions based on their expertise and professional experience, offering diverse perspectives on these issues.

In his concluding remarks, Kang Chongqing highlighted that both EEA and the State Key Lab play vital roles in advancing the electrical engineering discipline at Tsinghua University. He stressed that close collaboration and efficient coordination between the two entities are essential for the overall development of the field. He called for: Concrete measures in talent development; Optimization of laboratory resources and platform construction; Enhancements in graduate student education and training; Strategic planning and coordination for major projects; He also emphasized the importance of establishing an effective coordination mechanism with clear responsibilities assigned to specific personnel to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of follow-up tasks.

This coordination meeting facilitated a significant consensus on laboratory co-construction mechanisms between the Party and Administrative Joint Meeting of EEA and the State Key Lab. Moving forward, both sides will strengthen interaction and information sharing, establish dedicated task groups, and coordinate on key issues such as research project applications, the establishment of joint research institutions, and graduate student training. The successful convening of this meeting has further strengthened the comprehensive collaboration between EEA and the State Key Lab, injecting strong momentum into the effective and solid advancement of future work.
