On December 28, Guo Yong, Deputy Party Secretary of Tsinghua University, and his team visited the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute (referred to as the "Institute") for an inspection and held a discussion with the Institute’s management team. After listening to the report on the relevant situation, Guo Yong fully recognized the achievements in the construction and development of the Institute. He stated that the Institute, with energy internet as its core field, has formed a distinctive development pattern: First, relying on the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), it has built an interdisciplinary platform that connects multiple departments within the university, providing important support for the university's discipline construction and talent cultivation. Second, based in Sichuan, it serves the western region while radiating across the country, playing a key role in expanding the university’s influence. Third, based on independent scientific research, it has enhanced research competitiveness and the ability to transform research achievements, making important contributions to the local economic and social development. Guo Yong pointed out that in the future, the university will use the Institute as a platform to accelerate the deepening and solidifying of provincial-university cooperation with Sichuan, and he hopes the Institute will further leverage the university's overall development strategy and the geographic advantages of the Institute to support the construction of major national strategic projects. The university will continue to provide service and support for the Institute.

At the meeting, Lu Zongxiang, Executive Vice President of the Institute, presented a detailed report on the Institute's achievements in talent aggregation, technological innovation, and research transformation since its establishment, using key phrases like “Originating from Tsinghua, extending to departments,” “Rooted in Sichuan, thriving in all fields,” and “Serving the country, moving toward the international stage.” He also outlined the Institute’s future development plans. Before the meeting, under the introduction of Lv Lanchun, Assistant Director of the Institute, Guo Yong and his team visited the Institute’s technology achievements exhibition hall to learn in detail about the Institute’s innovations in key energy internet equipment, smart energy systems, information empowerment, and energy carbon neutrality.
