On the morning of November 24, Li Luming, Vice Party Secretary and President of Tsinghua University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with his team, visited the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) for research and discussions with the leadership team and department heads of the Institute. Chen Lizhang, Vice Party Secretary of the Tianfu New District and Director of the Management Committee, accompanied the visit.

Meeting

At the meeting, Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics at Tsinghua University and Director of the Institute, gave a detailed report on the achievements of the Institute since its establishment, including talent recruitment, technological innovation, and achievements in the transformation of research outcomes, as well as future development plans. Kang Chongqing stated that the Institute will continue to adhere to the concept of "Originating from Tsinghua, Rooted in Sichuan, Serving the Whole Country, and Expanding Internationally," focusing on creating a business system that balances technological innovation, industrial development, and testing and certification, with the goal of becoming an important window for Tsinghua University to serve the western region of China. On one hand, the Institute will provide in-depth services for national major projects and strategic needs through an organized R&D model, and on the other hand, accelerate internationalization, supporting the development strategy of the "Belt and Road."

After listening to the report, Li Luming expressed his gratitude to Tianfu New District for its care and support for the Institute and affirmed the hard work and achievements of the Institute’s staff. Li Luming emphasized that Tsinghua University always regards serving the country as its highest pursuit, and views discipline construction as the foundation for development. The university continuously optimizes its discipline layout to align with both technological frontiers and national needs. Energy, as a core issue for economic transformation and achieving carbon neutrality, is an important part of Tsinghua University’s discipline construction. This visit has provided new ideas for exploring new models for the high-quality development of engineering disciplines at the university. He hopes the Institute will continue to serve as an important window for Tsinghua University to serve the western region and generate innovative results closely aligned with national development needs. Tsinghua University will continue to implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Party Congress, optimizing resource allocation through reforms and innovation, stimulating vitality, and continuously strengthening the breakthrough of key core technologies, as well as transforming scientific and technological achievements, to contribute further to the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics and the high-quality development of Sichuan’s economy and society.

In his speech, Chen Lizhang thanked Tsinghua University for its attention and support for Tianfu New District and the Institute, fully recognizing the Institute’s achievements in talent gathering, technological breakthroughs, and transformation of research outcomes. Chen Lizhang pointed out that the Institute’s team is pragmatic and enterprising, with visible results. The team has deeply embodied Tsinghua University’s motto of "Self-discipline and Social Commitment" and the school’s spirit of "Action over Words," enhancing Tsinghua University’s century-old brand. Chen Lizhang expressed that Tianfu New District will closely cooperate with Tsinghua University to jointly advance the construction of industrial parks and outcomes transformation projects. He hopes that Tsinghua University will increase its support for the Institute and help build it into a platform for transforming research outcomes that serves the western region.
