On November 13, the Academic Exchange and Annual Work Meeting of Materials and Testing New Technology Committee, CIGRE Chinese National Committee was successfully held in Nanjing, Jiangsu. Over 20 committee members from enterprises, research institutions, universities, and manufacturing units attended the meeting. This event was hosted by the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) and organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) at Tsinghua University.

The International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) was established in 1921 and is an important global academic organization that covers technology, economics, environment, organization, and management in power systems. CIGRE established the Materials and Testing New Technologies Committee (D1), which aims to promote international exchange of information and knowledge on materials and emerging testing technologies in the electrical engineering field, and to drive technological progress in engineering.

The committee's Chairperson, Zhou Yuanxiang, and Vice-Chairperson, Zhang Yewen, presented appointment certificates to the new members. The 3rd Materials and Testing New Technologies Committee, CIGRE Chinese National Committee was officially established!

In his speech, Zhou Yuanxiang stated that CIGRE D1 focuses on materials and measurement technologies, which can provide strong support for power equipment and power systems. Therefore, the members of this committee are experts from various fields. With the collective efforts of the members, the committee will leverage its collective wisdom and synergistic role to put forward insights on materials and new testing technologies, and promote the development of related standards and technologies.

Committee Secretary-General Wu Chao introduced the CIGRE conference held in Paris in August. In addition to plenary reports and technical exhibitions, activities related to D1 included poster displays, special topic discussions, and technical training. These focused on industry hot topics such as new electrical insulating liquids and SF6 alternative gases.

During the thematic report session, Professor Zhang Yewen from Tongji University presented a report on "Dielectric Performance Measurement Technology of Polymer Films and IEC 62631-2-3," Professor Wang Jianyi from the China Electric Power Research Institute gave a presentation on "Hydrogenated Isomeric Non-Cyclic Transformer Oil Performance and Transformer Oil Evaluation Technology," and Professor Liu Sanwei from Hunan Electric Power Research Institute spoke about "Technology of Gas-Insulated Composite High Voltage Cable Systems." General Manager/Professorate Senior Engineering of Wuxi Sun.King Technology Group Limited presented on "Research and Application Status of Flexible DC Transmission DC Support Capacitors," while Associate Professor Huang Meng from North China Electric Power University delivered a report on "Advanced Perception and Intelligent Diagnosis Technology for Power Equipment Health Status."

Following the reports, committee members held in-depth discussions on how to better promote domestic and international industry-academia-research collaboration, as well as how to enhance China's influence within CIGRE D1.
