On October 12, the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering held a grand ceremony for the "Award for Power Technology Person of the Year 2004" during the opening of its 90th anniversary and 2024 annual conference.
Researcher Xu Fei from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) was granted the "Award for Outstanding Contribution to Power Science and Technology," Associate Professor Hu Zechun received the "Award for Outstanding Power Science and Technology Worker," and Associate Researcher Wang Bin won the "Award for Outstanding Young Talent in Power Science and Technology."
The "Award for Power Technology Person" was established in 2015 and consists of three sub-awards: the "Award for Outstanding Contribution to Power Science and Technology," the "Award for Outstanding Power Science and Technology Worker," and the "Award for Outstanding Young Talent in Power Science and Technology." These awards are presented annually, with no more than 110 engineering technicians and university faculty and students who have made significant contributions to scientific research and engineering practices in the power sector being recognized. The purpose is to encourage exemplary role models in the advancement of technological innovation in the power industry.
After a rigorous review process that includes recommendations, formal review, online evaluations, preliminary reviews, assessments by the review committee, public announcement, and approval by the award committee, a total of 110 awardees were selected for the Award for Power Technology Person of the Year 2004. These included 10 recipients of the "Award for Outstanding Contribution to Power Science and Technology," 50 of the "Award for Outstanding Power Science and Technology Worker," and 50 of the "Award for Outstanding Young Talent in Power Science and Technology."
