Recently, following the “Power Innovation Award Granting Method”, China Electricity Council organized the evaluation of the 2023 Power Innovation Award. After a comprehensive review, approval by the award committee, and public disclosure, all processes have been completed, and the evaluation results have been announced. Many teams from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), either leading or participating, have been honored with the 2023 Power Innovation Award, including two grand prizes for power innovation, four first prizes for power technology innovation, and four second prizes for power technology innovation.
Professor Mei Shengwei’s team from EEA received the Grand Prize for Power Innovation for the project “Key Technologies and Demonstration Application of Compressed Air Energy Storage System Based on Salt Cavern Gas Storage”. Professor Wu Wenchuan’s team also secured the Grand Prize for Power Innovation for their project “Energy Management and Cluster Control System, Equipment, and Application Supporting Mass Distributed Resources in the Distribution Network”.
In the Power Technology Innovation category, the project “Dynamic Risk Monitoring and Control Technology and Management Platform for Power Market Operation” of Professor Chen Qixin’s team, the project “Key Technologies and Engineering Applications for Synergetic Control of Electric Energy and Carbon in Multi-Source Heterogeneous Energy Systems” of Professor Sun Hongbin’s team, the project “Planning Technology and Application for Aggregation of Demand-Side Flexibility Resources at the Tens of Millions of Kilowatt Level” of Associate Professor Lu Zongxiang’s team, and the project “Real-Time Scheduling and Emergency Decision-Making Key Technologies for Coordinated Interaction of Market Resources and Non-Market Resources in the Complex Grid Market of the Greater Bay Area” of Professor Chen Qixin’s team all received the first prize for Power Technology Innovation.
In the Power Technology Innovation second prize category, the project “Research and Application of High-Voltage Large-Capacity DC Interruption Technology” of Professor Zeng Rong’s team, the project “Data-Value-Driven Multi-Level Regulation Technology and Application for New Energy Power Systems” of Associate Professor Zhong Haiwang’s team, the project “Active Protection Technology and Application for Preventing Personal Electric Shock Accidents in Distribution Networks” of Associate Professor Wang Bin’s team, and the project “Research on Intelligent Simulation Technology to Promote Large-Scale Clean Energy Market Consumption” of Professor Chen Qixin’s team were all recognized.
Established in 1988 and approved by the State Council, China Electricity Council has 1,329 member units. Upholding its functional positioning of “Industry-based, Service-oriented, Government-linked, and Society-communicated”, it plays a vital role in promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the power industry.
