On November 2, Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou, Professor Aris Dimeas, and Dr. Alkistis Christina Kontou from the National Technical University of Athens visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) at Tsinghua University. Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou was appointed as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University and an Outstanding Visiting Expert at the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute. Both Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou and Professor Aris Dimeas delivered themed academic presentations. Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, and Dai Jing, Deputy Director of the Energy Governance Research Center, attended the presentations. The meeting was chaired by Yu Zhanqing, Deputy Dean of EEA.

During the award ceremony, Kang Chongqing presented the appointment letter for Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University and the certificate of Outstanding Visiting Expert at the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute to Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou.

Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou gave an academic presentation titled "The Role of Microgrids in Enhancing Power System Resilience against Natural Disasters." In his presentation, he discussed management strategies for the overall interruption of distribution systems based on the formation, dispatch, and recovery of Microgrids (MG). He emphasized the need for caution in dealing with rapidly changing frequencies in low-inertia systems during the formation or recovery of MGs.

Professor Aris Dimeas delivered an academic presentation titled “TSO/DSO Collaboration — Local Flexibility Markets”. In his presentation, he summarized that aggregators participating in flexibility markets must implement critical functional modules. These include balancing and congestion market bidding, DER model management, price model management, weather model management, DER monitoring, DER operation, and data exchange with participants/platforms to effectively manage and optimize their participation.
