On July 3, a team led by Kang Chongqing, Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) of Tsinghua University, visited State Grid Jiangxi Power Company Limited to exchange the contents of cooperation between the two sides and held a ceremony for signing a letter of intent on cooperation. Wu Wenchuan, Lu Chao, Sun Kai, Zhang Lan, Zhang Shugui, Li Rong and Lv Bin from EEA, the State Key Laboratory of New-type Power System Operation and Control, the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, and Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute participated.
Two sides signed a letter of intent on cooperation
The team first visited the Big Data Centre and Dispatch Centre of Jiangxi Power Company. In the ensuing discussion and exchange, the two sides reached a consensus on further strengthening cooperation and exchanges and talent cultivation, responding to the dual challenges of Jiangxi Power Grid faced by the power supply and energy transition, supporting Jiangxi Power Grid in the transformation to clean and low-carbon energy Internet, and accelerating the construction of Jiangxi's new-type power system and so on. Afterwards, the two sides held a signing ceremony of the letter of intent on cooperation, Liu Yong, general manager and deputy party secretary of State Grid Jiangxi Power Company, presided over the signing ceremony, Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Wu Wenchuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, Wu Yue, deputy general manager of State Grid Jiangxi Power Company, attended the signing ceremony, and Xiao Rong, Chief Engineer of State Grid Jiangxi Power Company, signed the letter of intent of cooperation on the spot with Lu Chao, deputy dean of EEA. Both sides express the hope that this cooperation, based on friendly collaborating, advantages sharing and common developing, could integrate EEA’s high-quality scientific research strength and human resources with the industry advantages of Jiangxi Power Company to carry out theoretically and technologically innovative work, and strengthen talent training, mainly include: to establish a high-level scientific and technological research cooperation mechanism and solve some major technical problems in the field of power-carbon synergy based on the three-year action plan, the major needs of low-carbon grid development and the first-level modern grid; to establish a collaborative innovation mechanism relying on the National Science and Technology Plan and the State Grid Corporation Guidance Project and promote deep integration of industry, academia and research; to establish an all-round resource sharing and cooperation mechanism, actualize experimental platform resource sharing and scientific research result exchanging, jointly declare innovation platforms and realize the layout of intellectual property rights and the release of technical standards; to establish regular technical exchange and cooperation mechanism and visit each other every year for technical exchanges.
A visit to the Big Data Centre of State Grid Jiangxi Power Company
In the afternoon of July 3, State Grid Jiangxi Power Company and the Power System Committee of Jiangxi Electrical Engineering Society co-hosted a seminar on “Intelligent Interaction Technology for Source, Grid, Load and Storage of New-type Power Systems” at Jiangxi Electric Power Research Institute, and Prof. Kang Chongqing, Prof. Wu Wenchuan, Prof. Lu Chao, Associate Prof. Sun Kai of EEA, and Researcher Zhang Shugui of Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University were invited to visit the Big Data Centre of State Grid Jiangxi Power Company and give academic lecture on “Analysis of Six Elements in New-type Power Systems”, “High-penetration Distributed Self-Adaptive Photovoltaic Grid Incorporation, Active Support and Wide-area Synergy”, “Data-driven Power System Load Dynamics Modelling”, “Distributed Photovoltaic Storage System Control Technology to Support High-proportion Renewable Energy Access to Grid”, and “Typical Scenario Security Scenario Monitoring of New-type Power Systems”. The five reporters and the audience had in-depth and enthusiastic discussion on the key issues facing the construction of a new-type power system in Jiangxi.
