On May 18, the Party Committee and the Labour Union of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) successfully held the 2nd Academic Salon for Faculty in 2023 in the Meeting Room 3-217 of the West Main Building. The salon was jointly organized by the Party Branch of the Electrical Machinery Institute and the Party Branch of the High Voltage Institute, and co-chaired by the two branch secretaries Lu Haifeng and Zhang Bo. Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, attended the meeting and delivered an opening speech. More than 60 faculty members participated in the event.

In this salon, senior professor Li Yongdong and outstanding young teacher Li Qi were invited to give wonderful academic reports. Under the title of “The Second Energy and Electronic Revolution and Its Application in Land, Marine, Aeronautic, Astronautic and Submarine Fields”, Li Yongdong reviewed the history of energy and electronic technology, and deeply analyzed the current situation and trend of the energy and electronic revolution, as well as the development opportunities brought to various energy and electric drive technologies.

Under the title of “High Temperature Resistant Capacitive Energy Storage Film Materials”, Li Qi mainly introduced the important progress made in recent years in the field of high temperature resistant capacitive energy storage films using graft modification technology and molecular structural unit modularized design technology. After the academic report, the speakers had a heated exchange and discussion with the participating teaching staff.

This academic salon promoted the academic exchanges among different secondary disciplines in the department, and played a positive role in expanding the academic horizons and carrying out cross-institute cooperation for the faculty of EEA.
