On August 4, 2022, the Management Committee Meeting of Joint Research Center of Green Transport and Energy Technology of Tsinghua University (EEA) — CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd. was held online and offline in Shuangqing Building. Liu Haitao, Deputy General Manager of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, Rong Zhilin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Research Institute, Liu Qunxin, Deputy Director of the Research Institute, Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Lu Chao, Deputy Dean of EEA, Yu Zhanqing, Deputy Dean of EEA, and Li Yongdong, Professor of EEA, attended the meeting.

Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, delivered a speech on behalf of EEA, expressing full recognition of the research center’s R&D and industrialization of transformative technologies in the fields of transport and energy, and hoping that the two sides would strengthen cooperation on projects such as electrified roads, utilize the think tank and innovation advantages of Tsinghua University and promote the development of electrification technology and industrial implementation in the field of road freight through the establishment of industrial alliances and other forms. Liu Haitao, Director of the management committee and deputy general manager of Zhuzhou Institute, fully affirmed the long-term cooperation between the two parties, and put forward requirements for the direction and layout of the joint center from the perspective of the future transformation and development of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute. Lu Chao, Deputy Director of the management committee and Deputy Dean of EEA, presided over the review of the joint research center charter. Zheng Zedong, Director of the research center, and Liu Qunxin, Deputy Director of the research center, reported to the management committee the scientific research projects to be established by the center this year, and conducted work discussion on strengthening collaborative work.

Dr. Zhang Zhixue, technical expert of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, Wen Yuliang, Deputy General Manager of Comprehensive Energy Division, Huang Min, Deputy Director of Basic R&D Center, Shao Qiang and Hu Qiuping, Heads of Science and Technology Quality Department, attended the meeting.

In the field of electrified transport, the Joint Research Center of Green Transport and Energy Technology of Tsinghua University (EEA) — CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute can make full use of the research advantages of Tsinghua University in combination with the engineering and industrialization advantages of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, and focus on the goals of green transport and carbon emission reduction to study the electrified drive scheme and power supply technology scheme of heavy-duty transport vehicles represented by EMU trains and heavy-duty trucks, as well as the coordinated operation of renewable energy and the power supply system of heavy-duty electrified transport vehicles, promote the consumption of renewable energy in the transport network, and accelerate the realization of the “dual carbon” goal in the transport field.
