Recently, Beijing Municipal Education Commission announced thelist of winners ofthe 2021Award to Famous Teachers in Beijing Colleges and Universities, andProfessor Kang Chongqing of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua Universitywas granted the “17thAward to Famous Teachers inBeijingColleges and Universities”

This award was organized byBeijing Municipal Education Commission, and the winners were recommended by their colleges and universities, reviewedbyanexperts’ group, votedbya review committee, andverified and announced by theMunicipal Education Commission.In 2021,a total of 70 teachers in Beijingcolleges and universitieswon the “17thAward to Famous Teachers inBeijingColleges and Universities”, and two of them were fromTsinghua University.

Kang Chongqingis theProfessor and Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering, President of Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute ofTsinghua University,President of Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute,and president of Tsinghua University-State Grid “New Generation Power System” Joint Research Institute; heis mainly engaged in the researchin power system planning and reliability, power system dispatch and operation, renewable energy, low-carbon power technology, load forecasting,andenergy Internet.He is the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a leader in scientific and technological innovation of the National “Ten Thousand Talents Program”, anIEEE Fellow and an IET Fellow. He has presided over the national key research and development plan projects, the national natural science foundation international cooperation key projects andjoint fund key projects, etc.He has served as the deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, chairman of the Education and Youth Committee, deputy chairman of the International Cooperation Committee, deputy chairman of the Electrotechnical Mathematics Committee, deputy chairman of Beijing Society of Electrical Engineering,editor-in-chief of the International SCI journal International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems,editor-in-chief of several domestic and foreign journals,a member of the SC C1 Strategic Advisory Committee ofthe International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), chairman of the Special Committee of Power System Development and Economics (C1) of the CIGRE China National Committee,a member of the IEEE PES Long-term Strategy Committee and a member of the IEEE PES Fellowship Nomination Resource Committee.He has published 5 monographs in Chinese and English, published more than 300 papers, including more than 100 IEEE Transactions papers. From 2017 to 2020, he was continuouslyenrolled in the list ofElsevier Chinese Most Cited Researchers.He won the 2018 Award forOutstanding ContributiontoChina Electric Power Science and Technology.
