On the morning of January 14, 2021, a Meeting of Exchange on the Work of Research Teams in 2020 and a Discussion on the "14th Five-year Plan" was held by EEA, Tsinghua University in Meeting Room 102, Zone 3, West Main Building. For pandemic prevention and control according to the requirement of Beijing City Government and Tsinghua University, this meeting was held online and offline. More than 40 people, including Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Professor Yu Xinjie, CPC Committee Secretary of EEA, leaders of 11 research teams, members of the joint conference between the Party and the government and related teachers, attended the meeting.
Professor Kang Chongqing first thanked the team leaders and teachers for attending the seminar during the winter vacation, made a brief summary of the scientific research work of EEA in the past year, and put forward expectations for the exchange and discussion on that day. 11 leaders of the research team respectively made annual work exchange reports on the progresses of main researches, actualization of scientific research achievements, cultivation of talent teams and construction of platforms in the past year according to main research orientations, major national needs and key technical problems, summarized the problems existing in the work, and analyzed the tasksin 2021.
After that, Associate Professor Lu Chao, Deputy Dean of EEA, introduced the drafting progress of the "14th Five-year Plan" of EEA (Exposure Draft), which summarizes the work of EEA in personnel training, team construction, discipline construction, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation, international exchange and cooperation, etc. during the past five years, analyzes the opportunities and challenges brought about by external environmental changes as well as the development trend at home and abroad, and clarifies the guiding ideology and principles, development goals and main tasks for EEA in the next five years. Members of the joint conference between the Party and the government and 11 leaders of the research teams made sufficient and heated discussions on the "14th Five-year Plan" (Draft), proposed suggestions on serving the national strategy, tapping the connotation of disciplines, strengthening the transformation of achievements, improving the utilization level of scientific research platforms, and introducing high-level teachers, and jointly drew up a blueprint for the development of EEA during the "14th Five-year Plan". On the basis of soliciting the opinions of the academic committee, the teaching committee, the directors and team leaders of various institutes, and the teams of the two academies, the plan draft will be further revised and improved, and the opinions of teachers and alumni inside and outside the department will be considered.
