Recently, at the annual meeting of the Special Committee of Electrical Energy Conservation of China Electrotechnical Society held in Shenzhen, Professor Li Yongdong of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) won the Award of Outstanding Contribution Award to "30 Years of Electrical Engergy Saving in China" for his contribution to the variable frequency speed regulation system of domestic HV large-capacity AC motors. Professor Li Yongdong is the exclueisve winner of this award.
Li Yongdong, Professor and doctoral supervisor of EEA of Tsinghua University, head of the team of "Advanced Electrical Energy Conversion and Electrified Transportation", has been engaged in the research of theories and applications of high-performance, large-capacity and full-digital AC motor control system for a long time. Particularly, he has been granted more than ten patents for this control methods and theories on high-voltage large-capacity asynchronous motor frequency conversion speed regulation, AC motor vector control and direct torque control, etc., which have been applied in actual systems, resulting in remarkable economic and social benefits.
