On September 11, 2020, the Energy Internet Development Forum 2020 also the academic annual conference of the Energy Internet Committee of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering was held in Tianjin. This conference, with the theme of "Gather Forces for the Energy Internet and Empower Digitalized New Infrastructure", was hosted by the Energy Internet Committee of CSEE, EEA of Tsinghua University and the National Network Information and Communication Industry Group Co., Ltd. The conference was held in the forms of on-the-spot meeting and live video broadcast. More than 100 members and representatives from colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises in the fields of energy, internet and finance attended the meeting on the spot. The main forum and special forums were broadcast live throughout the whole process, with 5,574 online hits. Cross-disciplinary, cross-industry and cross-department academic exchanges were carried out around the energy internet and digitalized new infrastructure.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Sun Hongbin, chairman of the academic committee and vice chairman of the special committee of the EEA of Tsinghua University. Wu Yunxi, Deputy Secretary General of CSEE, Kang Chongqing, DEAN of EEA of Tsinghua University, and Li Qiang, General Manager of National Network Information and Communication Industry Group Co., Ltd., attended the conference and delivered speeches.

Wu Yunxi, Deputy Secretary General of CSEE, expressed warm congratulations on the convening of the conference on behalf of CSEE. He said that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Society has organized relevant enterprises and scientific research institutes in the electric power industry to conduct extensive research, solicited the opinions of a number of academicians and experts, and put forward the impact and countermeasures of COVID-19 on the development of electric power science and technology. He hoped that the Energy Internet Committee, under the leadership of Academician Chen Weijiang, would actively promote the energy Internet technology progress, academic exchanges and integration of production, education and research in China.

Professor Kang Chongqing pointed out that the energy Internet was the ecology and the only choice of energy supply that must be built to ensure the sustainable development of mankind. Tsinghua University was committed to making good use of the existing platform and establishing a multi-disciplinary collaborative innovation mechanism to expand the discipline direction of energy Internet on the basis of electrical engineering discipline, joining hands with the member units of the CSEE Energy Internet Committee from the establishment of the basic theory of energy Internet, the cultivation of talent training projects, the constitution of standard systems, the research and development of key technologies, and the construction of academic prosperity platforms, etc,

Next, the conference released the "Annual Report on the Development of the National Energy Internet 2020", the ceremony of which was jointly launched by Deputy Secretary General Wu Yunxi, Chief Information engineer Sun Zhengyun, Professor Kang Chongqing, General Manager Li Qiang, Secretary Xie Kai and Deputy General Manager Lai Zhengtian.

Gao Feng, Vice President of the Energy Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University, interpreted in detail the Annual Report on the Development of the National Energy Internet 2020, and pointed out that the consensus of all sectors of the community on the energy Internet would be agglomerated in the future to provide basic and forward-looking reference for the government, enterprises and research institutions to participate in and carry out energy revolution actions, and promote the healthy and rapid development of the industry from the perspective of sustainable energy development.

Sun Zhengyun, Chief Information Officer of State Grid and Chairman of the Directing Committee of IEEE PES Energy Internet Coordination Committee; Zeng Ming, Director of Energy Internet Research Centre of North China Electric Power University; Song Baosong, General Manager of Puhua Electric Power Company, National Network Information and Communication Industry Group, Xie Kai, Secretary of Beijing Power Trading Centre. and Saifur Rahman, a foreign fellow of CSEE and a professor from Virginia Tech, respectively delivered keynote speeches on digitalized energy Internet construction, integrated energy system optimization planning theory and practice, constitution of a new future of ecological, win-win and shared intelligent energy services, current situation, goal and path of the national unified power market, and an Energy Internet Platform for Transactive Energy Applications.

The last part of the main forum was to award prizes for excellent theses, which was presided over and read out by Lu Chao, Deputy Dean of EEA of Tsinghua University and Secretary General of the special committee. Totally 15 excellent theses were selected at this academic annual conference. Deputy Secretary General Wu Yunxi, Professor Sun Hongbin and Chief Editor Bai Kai passed certificates to the award-winning authors and took a group photo as a souvenir.

On the afternoon of the 11th, three sub-forums were held, including "Studying Group Discussion", "Comprehensive Energy Service from the Perspective of Energy Internet", and "Thesis Exchange", a number of experts, scholars and excellent thesis authors were invited to the forums to exchange views on related topics.

The academic annual conference was successfully held to build an in-depth academic exchange platform for universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises engaged in energy Internet and other related fields at home and abroad, so as to create an in-depth dialogue between the energy Internet and the new digitalized infrastructure, jointly explore the technical problems encountered in the development of the energy revolution, and share the co-construction, co-governance and win-win strategy of the energy Internet industry ecosystem.
