In January 2020, Imperial College London formally hired Professor Kang Chongqing of EEA, Tsinghua University as a visiting professor for a tenure of three years. During the tenure, he will mainly rely on the Energy Future Lab in the Faculty of Engineering of the Imperial College London to carry out teaching, academic reports, visits and exchanges, cooperative research, joint training of doctoral students, and so on. In 2019, Professor Kang Chongqing and Professor Gorenzibeck (Goran Strbac) of Imperial College applied for and won the project "Sustainable Development of Urban Energy System: Policy Design, Operation Optimization and Market Coordination" of the China-EU International Cooperative Research Program (NSFC-JPI_UE) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and set up the "Tsinghua University - Imperial College Intelligent Power and Energy System Joint Research Center". After being hired, Professor Kang Chongqing will further strengthen and deepen the all-round cooperation between Tsinghua University and Imperial College in the field of electric power and energy.
