In January 2020, IEEE PES (IEEE Power and Energy Society) held a PES Governing Board Meeting in Jacksonville, USA and elected a new batch of internationally renowned experts and scholars into the IEEE PES Distinguished Lecturer Program. 10 people from all over the world, including Professor He Jinliang and Professor Kang Chongqing from EEA of Tsinghua University were elected into the program. At present, the IEEE PES Distinguished Lecturer Program includes 109 experts and scholars from all over the world.
It is reported that, the Distinguished Lecturer Program, an overall selection and support plan of IEEE, is organized and implemented by each IEEE society. He Jinliang, Professor of EEA, Tsinghua University, Director of the Institute of High Voltage and Insulation Technology, mainly engaged in the fields of advanced power transmission technology, lightning protection technology, intelligent information perception, intelligent nano-dielectric materials and systems, etc., IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow and HPEM Fellow of the US Summa Foundation, won the Technical Achievement Award of IEEE EMC Society, the 6th Hoshino Award of the Institute of Electrical Installation Engineers of Japan, the Distinguished Contribution Award of the Asia-Pacific International Conference on Lightning, Rudolf Heinrich Golde Award of the International Lightning Protection Symposium, and IEEE Herman Halperin Electric Transmission and Distribution Award.
