On the afternoon of October 30, 2019, Dr. Tudor Constantinescu, chief consultant and director general of the European Commission Directorate-General for Energy, led a delegation of China-EU Energy Cooperation Platform to visit the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronic Technology (EEA) and the Research Institute for Energy Internet Innovation of Tsinghua University.

Prof. Xiao Xi, deputy director of the EEA, Tsinghua University, and Gao Feng, vice president of the Research Institute for Energy Internet Innovation, and others, first accompanied the delegation to visit the State Key Laboratory of Control and Simulation of Power System and Power Generation Equipments. Mr. Wang Bin introduced the lab in detail.

Then, a symposium was held at Room 203, Area 2, West Main Building, Tsinghua University, chaired by Vice President Gao Feng. Prof. Xiao Xi delivered a welcome speech and introduced the establishment process and development status of the EEA and the Research Institute for Energy Internet Innovation of Tsinghua University. Associate Prof. Yu Zhanqing, deputy director of DC Center of Research Institute for Energy Internet Innovation, and Dr. Wang Zhaojian from the Research Center of Safety and Efficient Technology, introduced respectively related energy Internet research and practice.

The delegation expressed sincere thanks to the EEA and the Research Institute for Energy Internet Innovation of Tsinghua University for their warm reception and spoke highly of the energy Internet work carried out by China and Tsinghua University. Both sides agreed to further strengthen industrial exchanges and project cooperation in the fields of deepening policies and regulations, market transactions, renewable energy, and energy efficiency improvement in the future.

Dr. Florian Ermacora, head of Wholesale Market Electricity and Gas Department of European Commission Directorate-General for Energy, Mr. Tomasz Jerzyniak, official of International Relations China Office of European Commission Directorate-General for Energy, Mr. Octavian Stamate, counsellor of Energy and Climate Action of EU Delegation to China, Dr. Flora Kan, executive director of China-EU Energy Cooperation Platform project, and relevant researchers of Research Institute for Energy Internet Innovation of Tsinghua University, attended the meeting.
