At the Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IECON) held in Portugal on October 16, Zheng Zedong, associate professor of the Department of electrical engineering and Applied Electronic Technology (EEA), was elected as the chairman of the next session of the Transportation Electrification Technical Committee.

The Transportation Electrification Technical Committee of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) aims to collaborate with researchers from industry, government and academia to conduct a comprehensive exchange and discussion of technologies in transportation electrification, including electric/plug-in hybrid vehicles, advanced energy storage systems, plug-in/wireless charging facilities, power electronics, power transmission, fuel cells, and access to renewable energy/micro-networks. Chairman of Meeting Affairs will promote the organization of IES academic conferences in this field.
