Biography


Peng Wang graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Automation from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) in July 2014, earning the title of Outstanding Graduate. He then completed his Ph.D. at BIT’s School of Automation in July 2020. From November 2018 to November 2019, he studied at ETH Zurich. Since July 2020, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at Tsinghua University’s Department of Electrical Engineering, and became an assistant researcher since March 2023.


His research focuses on power system planning and operation simulation, distributed optimization algorithms and their grid applications. He has published over 30 SCI/EI papers, applied for or obtained over 20 invention patents, secured 4 software copyrights, and achieved 7 technology transfers. He participated in one National Natural Science Foundation key project and over 20 research projects for State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, and other organizations. His work has been applied in provincial power companies and design institutes, winning two gold medals at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, one State Grid Technology Progress First Prize, and one CSG and one SGRI Technology Progress Award each.
