Dr. Feng Liu has been appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University since 2011. He received the B.S. degree and Ph. D in 1999 and 2004, respectively, both in electrical engineering. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Institute of System Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, from 2004 to 2006, and with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing China, from 2009-2011. During 2006-2009, he joined the Power Dispatch & Communication Center at the Shanghai Municipal Electrical Power Company, where he worked as a system operator and an IT engineer. During 2015-2016, he was a visiting associate at Caltech. His research interests include stability analysis and control in power systems, optimization and game theory in energy power system decision-making. He has been the PI of more than 20 academic and industrial projects. He has published more than 200 journal or conference papers, and co-authored two books. Dr. Feng Liu was received several awards, including the National 100 Excellent Ph.D. Dissertations Award (2007), the second prize of the National Natural Science Award (2008), the first prize of The First Prize of Natural Sciences Award by the Ministry of Education of China (2015), etc.
Dr. Liu is a member of the Beijing Municipal Power Emergency Committee and the Expert Panel in New Energy Integration (CSEE). He is a senior member of IEEE. He serves as the Editorial Board Member of five international and Chinese peer-reviewed Journals, including IEEE Transactions on Smart Grids, PES Letter, IEEE Access, etc. He is also a guest editor of IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion.
