On the afternoon of April 23, the donation ceremony of the alumni admitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics of Tsinghua University in 1985 was held in the Conference Room 212, Zone 2, West Main Building. 10 alumni including Qu Weimin, Liu Dongyao (Class 5 of PowerDistributionNetwork &System forPowerStations), Liu Ripeng, Zhang Xue (Class 5 of ElectricalMachinery &Appliances) Jiang Xiufeng, Zhong Mingbo, Wang Xuegang (Class 5 ofHigh Voltage Engineering), Liu Jianbo (Class 5 ofBiomedical Engineering) admitted in 1985 and their teachers Su Pengsheng and Tong Luyuan got together. Dean Kang Chongqing, Deputy Secretary Zheng Zedong of the Party Committee, Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Jie of the EEA Branch of Tsinghua Alumni Association, Han Liying from the Alumni Office of Tsinghua University attended the meeting.
Zheng Zedong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics and Secretary-General of the EEA Branch of the Tsinghua Alumni Association, expressed his heartfelt thanks to all alumni who came from afar. He briefly introduced the recent development of the department to the alumni in historical evolution, institutional settings, discipline characteristics, and talent training. He also emphasized that alumni are an important force in the development of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, he hoped that alumni can gather strength and play an active role in making suggestions and contributions to the development of the school and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics.
In the symposium, the alumni gave speeches one by one, shared their development after graduation and their current work situation, deeply reviewed the memories between teachers and students during the university, expressed their proud and surprise about the development of the department and the campus, and thanked the university and teachers for their cultivation.
Then, to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the founding of Tsinghua University and express the gratitude for the department, the attending alumni, on behalf of all the students admitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering, donated a calligraphy work "Generating Electricity for China and Cultivating Talents for the World".
After the symposium, the alumni and the leading teachers of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics took a group photo in the hall of the West Main Building. Small photos concentrate the time and precipitate gratitude and sweet memories. Boys and girls at the past have become young talents. To celebrate the 110th birthday of their alma mater, they gathered from all corners of the world and sincerely wish the alma mater to be brilliant forever and continue in great chapters!
