To gather outstanding young scholars worldwide and support their academic development, Tsinghua University, leveraging its “Double First-Class” construction platform, has launched the 2026 application and selection process for the “Shuimu Scholars” Program. The program aims to cultivate future academic leaders and contribute intelligence and strength to national economic and social development as well as scientific and technological progress.
The Postdoctoral Research Mobile Station for Electrical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology (Department of Electrical Engineering) was established in 1985 and is one of the first seven mobile stations at Tsinghua University. Over the past forty years, nearly 500 postdoctoral researchers have graduated from the station, forming a systematic support and training system for young scholars. We sincerely invite outstanding young talents from home and abroad to join the Department of Electrical Engineering and apply for the “Shuimu Scholars” Program. At the same time, the Department has established an excellent postdoctoral talent support program to ensure career development opportunities for outstanding young scholars within the department.
I. Salary and Benefits
1.1 Salary
Annual salary issued by the university: RMB 300,000 (pre-tax), with a funding period of 2–3 years. The Department of Electrical Engineering and the collaborating mentor may provide additional funding based on the applicant’s overall profile.

II. Training and Career Development
The Department provides “Shuimu Scholars” with a high-level development platform and comprehensive training system. In addition to participating in Tsinghua University’s New Faculty Induction Program, the Department has also established a “Qihang Mentor Advisory System” (trial). By introducing senior experts from universities, research institutes, and enterprises, together with the postdoctoral advisor, a guidance team is formed to help postdoctoral researchers broaden academic perspectives, provide precise research guidance, and offer forward-looking career development advice. The Department also regularly organizes academic salons and specialized exchange activities.
III. Application Requirements
3.1 Eligibility
(1) Applicants must be under 35 years of age.
(2) Applicants must be about to obtain a doctoral degree or have obtained a doctoral degree within the past three years.
(3) Recommendation by the Department of Electrical Engineering through interview assessment.
(4) Applicants must work full-time in the department as postdoctoral researchers after admission.
(5) Applicants may apply only once within one year.
3.2 Additional Notes
Doctoral students graduating within 2026 can apply for the first batch, and those graduating by July 1, 2027, can apply for the second batch.
Current postdoctoral researchers within six months of the application deadline (who have not previously applied for “Shuimu Scholars”) may apply for the corresponding batch; postdoctoral researchers with excellent mid-term evaluations, and whose contracts end within six months of the application deadline, may apply for the second batch if they plan to continue as postdoctoral researchers.
Eligible applicants selected as “Shuimu Scholars” should, in principle, also apply for national postdoctoral talent programs. If selected for both national programs and “Shuimu Scholars,” the higher salary standard will be issued by the university.
IV. Selection Process
Applicants submit their materials. The Department evaluates applications based on education and research experience, academic ability, research plan quality, and recommender evaluations, and organizes application defenses. Comprehensive results are then recommended to the university for review.
