Kang Chongqing welcomed Professor Zhong Zhiyong and his delegation. He noted that the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of PolyU and the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua share similar professional fields and have already established good cooperation in academic exchanges, scientific research, and international organization activities. He expressed hope that this visit would further promote comprehensive, multi-level cooperation between the two sides. Professor Zhong Zhiyong expressed sincere gratitude to the faculty and students of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua for their long-term active cooperation and exchanges with PolyU, particularly for their strong support of the inaugural IEEE Power & Energy Society International Meeting hosted by PolyU in January of that year.

Professor Bu Siqi, Deputy Dean of PolyU's Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, introduced the basic situation of PolyU and its department. The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering boasts strong faculty resources and a vibrant research atmosphere, covering six key research areas: power and energy systems; electric vehicles and smart transportation; photonics and intelligent devices; artificial intelligence, robotics, and materials engineering; communications and information security; and microelectronics and quantum technology. It is striving to build a world-class discipline and is committed to cultivating a new generation of engineers capable of addressing future complex innovation challenges. Sun Kai provided a detailed introduction to the history, organizational structure, faculty, talent cultivation, and international cooperation of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua. Chen Laijun, Deputy Dean of the Department, introduced the department's disciplinary development and scientific research work, including research directions, teams, major achievements, and university-industry cooperation.

During the exchange and discussion session, participants engaged in lively and in-depth discussions on topics such as graduate student training cooperation, undergraduate college-system cultivation, university-industry collaboration models, technology transfer, academic journal development, and laboratory construction. To further promote collaborative education between colleges and departments, Ye Liguma, Assistant to the Dean of Weiyang College, introduced the relevant situation of Weiyang College, emphasizing important changes in the 2025 cultivation model to better align with national strategic needs and student development demands.
