On the morning of February 13, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) held a Spring Festival greetings event for students remaining on campus during the winter break in Conference Room 102, Area 3, West Main Building. Attendees included Zheng Zedong (Party Secretary), Lu Chao (Deputy Dean), Yu Zhanqing (Deputy Party Secretary), and Zhong Haiwang (Head of the Graduate Affairs Group), who joined students in celebrating the Spring Festival.

During the event, faculty members had cordial conversations with students, asking about their reasons for staying on campus, and learning in detail about their recent life, study, and research. They extended sincere care and New Year greetings, wishing students academic progress and success. They also reminded students to maintain physical exercise, balance work and rest, and stay healthy.

Students then shared their holiday plans one by one. Most chose to stay on campus due to approaching graduation and the critical stage of dissertation writing. Students noted that although the campus was quieter during the holiday, the peaceful environment improved efficiency and allowed them to focus on refining their theses, striving to ensure high quality at the final stage. Some students shared that they still had experimental tasks during the winter break and expressed gratitude for the university’s strong emphasis on laboratory safety and systematic training, which enabled them to conduct experiments more safely and confidently. Others said that although they could not return home for the Spring Festival, they still felt warmth within the department community and were grateful for the thoughtful care and support.
Providing Spring Festival greetings to students staying on campus is a fine tradition of the department. To help students feel the warmth of “home,” the department carefully prepared “Spring Festival gift packages,” including candies, nuts, and Spring Festival couplets. Faculty members personally handed the gift packages to students, delivering heartfelt New Year blessings.
