On the afternoon of June 16, the Academic Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) at Tsinghua University held an expert review meeting for the continued construction of the “Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute” at Tsinghua University. The meeting was chaired by Professor He Jinliang, Chairman of the Academic Committee of EEA and a member of the University’s Academic Committee. Over ten experts and committee members attended the meeting.

Professor Gao Wensheng, Executive Vice President of the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, presented the report on the continued construction proposal. He reviewed the background of the institute's establishment in April 2015 and provided a comprehensive report on the institute's work over the past ten years, covering its development positioning, core work and typical achievements, ecosystem construction, and international exchanges. He also presented detailed plans for future development.

The attending experts recognized the outstanding performance of the institute since its establishment, particularly leveraging the academic advantages of EEA and Tsinghua University's policy support. The institute has made notable contributions in the areas of high-end engineering think tanks, talent cultivation, and technology commercialization. Its academic influence in the field of the domestic energy internet has continuously grown. The institute's management system is well-established, operations are standardized, and funding is used appropriately. Experts encouraged the institute to continue strengthening its research collaboration with EEA, expand its research fields, share research resources, and engage more in academic exchanges both domestically and internationally, thus injecting new vitality into the development of the electrical engineering discipline. The expert group unanimously recommended the continued construction of the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute.

In his concluding remarks, Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA and President of the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, emphasized that the continued construction is an important opportunity for the institute's development, as well as a new challenge. He hoped the institute would seize this opportunity to further enhance its research and innovation capabilities, contributing even more to the industry’s development and societal service. He also expressed hope that all sectors of society would continue to pay attention to and support the development of the institute, working together to play a greater role in the energy field.
