On the evening of June 26, the final of the 2025 Tsinghua University Faculty Basketball Championship took place at the North Gymnasium. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA)'s team faced off against the Department of Electronics, and after four intense quarters, they earned the runner-up position in this year's competition.

As the opening whistle blew, the court immediately transformed into an arena of willpower. Our team broke the deadlock first with a precise mid-range shot, igniting the fire of battle. Despite facing the Department of Electronics 's solid inside defense, our players continued to push forward with superb ball skills, exquisite teamwork, and flexible tactics. At one point, they launched an offensive surge, extending the lead to 7 points and drawing cheers from the sidelines. However, the balance of victory tilted unexpectedly in the final moments of the fourth quarter. A key player from our team suffered an injury during a fierce confrontation and was forced off the court, disrupting our rhythm. Seizing the opportunity, the Department of Electronics swiftly scored 6 points to take the lead. Despite our team's fierce resistance, we narrowly lost 45-49.

Before the final, our team had already been dealing with the absence of key players, but the entire team rose to the challenge with unyielding determination. Every hard-fought rebound and every well-coordinated pass on the court vividly embodied the Tsinghua spirit of "No Tsinghua without sports," leaving a lasting impression of the EEA’s resilient and energetic spirit. Although they were just one step away from the championship, the players' remarkable performance earned them heartfelt admiration and prolonged applause from the audience.

EEA's labor union has been a solid pillar for the faculty's cultural and sports activities. From organizing weekly training sessions for the basketball team to providing meticulous logistical support during the competition, they offered comprehensive assistance. The union stated that they will continue to foster a healthy, civilized, and progressive campus culture, strongly supporting a wide range of faculty cultural and sports activities, allowing the spirit of sports to nourish the hearts of all Tsinghua faculty and unite them with immense strength to forge ahead.
