The project is a key initiative led by the Tianjin Rail Transit Group in collaboration with Tsinghua University, Tianjin Huakai Electric Company, and other entities to promote green demonstration and innovation. It has been successfully selected as one of the first batch of green demonstration projects by China Urban Rail Transit Association. Led by Vice President Ding Shukui of the China Urban Rail Transit Association, six experts from the urban rail transit industry in Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Shanghai, and other cities, as well as Li Wei, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Tianjin Binhai New Area, Wang Dongsheng, Director of the Railway Construction Department of the Municipal Transportation Commission, Zhou Ming, Director of the High-Tech Department of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Yang Shaohai, a first-level researcher from the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, and other department heads attended the meeting to provide guidance. Chen Xu, Ding Hongming, Chen Guoqing, and Ma Yunkang, Vice General Managers of Tianjin Rail Transit Group, Zhu Ganping, Chief Engineer, and Lu Chao, Deputy Dean of EEA at Tsinghua University, also participated in the meeting. Representatives from Tianjin Huakai Electric Co., Ltd., China Railway Design Corporation, China Railway Sixth Survey and Design Institute, Electric Power Research Institute, and China Railway Wuhan Electrification Bureau also attended the meeting.
The “Green Smart Integration Demonstration Project of Flexible Traction Power Supply System Based on Energy Router and Collaborative Control” is a key project led by Tianjin Rail Transit Group to promote green demonstration and innovation. With Tianjin urban center as the starting point and extending to Jinghai suburban railway, the project focuses on three main areas: energy conservation and emission reduction, substitution of green energy sources, and application of green equipment. It aims to develop a multi-port energy router integrating traction power supply, regenerative braking, and photovoltaic DC grid connection, as well as smart collaborative control technology, with a focus on green and smart integration, flexibility, efficiency, safety, and reliability. From theoretical research to engineering practice, the project aims to create a new generation of urban rail flexible DC traction power supply systems that are replicable, adaptable, and scalable, thus achieving high-quality and sustainable development of urban rail traction power supply systems.
Professor Lu Chao and his team from EEA at Tsinghua University, along with the Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, have undertaken multiple technical development tasks for the Tianjin-Jinghai line. They will develop the first complete set of equipment for distributed photovoltaic access to flexible DC cooperative control systems in China, representing a beneficial exploration in the rail transit field of green and smart integration, industry-university-research integration, and exploration of new productive forces. This demonstration project will achieve dual improvements in economic performance and reliability and will further generate new industrial equipment, bringing new momentum to the industry’s development.
