On November 25, the first board meeting of the Electrical Engineering Committee of Zhejiang Alumni Association, Tsinghua University was successfully held at Xianghu World Tourism Expo Center in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou. Guests from Tsinghua Alumni Association and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), Tsinghua University, along with all members of the Committee, gathered to mark the beginning of a new chapter. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Zedong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA and Secretary-General of EEA Alumni Branch of Tsinghua Alumni Association.

Shi Zongkai, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Committee of Tsinghua University and Vice President of Tsinghua Alumni Association, congratulated the establishment of the Committee on behalf of Tsinghua University and the Alumni Association. He shared three insights based on his experience working with the Alumni Association: firstly, he hoped that the directors of the Committee would not only be “directors” but also “doers,” providing better services for the growth and development of alumni; secondly, he acknowledged the significant role played by the directors in the alumni activities during the 110th anniversary celebration of Tsinghua University; and thirdly, he expressed his hope that the directors would undertake more, better and outstanding work for Tsinghua alumni in Zhejiang, serving as an example for alumni organizations globally.

Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA at Tsinghua University and President of EEA Alumni Branch of Tsinghua Alumni Association, expressed gratitude to Tsinghua Alumni Association, Zhejiang Alumni Association of Tsinghua University, and all the directors present for their strong support and assistance in the promotion of various activities of the Committee, from its inception to the implementation. He hoped that the Committee would consolidate the strength of Zhejiang, build a platform for alumni exchange and mutual assistance, and strengthen the connection between alumni and their alma mater.

Yu Fuyu, Vice President and Secretary-General of Zhejiang Alumni Association of Tsinghua University, read the “Resolution on Establishment of Electrical Engineering Committee by Zhejiang Alumni Association, Tsinghua University.” Zhong Mingbo introduced the “Working Methods of Electrical Engineering Committee of Zhejiang Alumni Association, Tsinghua University.” All members of the board deliberated and unanimously passed the working methods of the Committee.

The meeting elected Zhong Mingbo as the Chairman of the Committee, with Chen Qinghua, Chen Yongzhi, Cao Bin, Ren Tianting, Li Feifei, Cui Wei as Vice Chairmen, Chen Yongzhi as Secretary-General, Fang Bin and Liang Shengling as Deputy Secretaries-General, and Wang Xiaolei, Yan Xinrong, Dong Jin Ni, Hu Zeyuan, Shen Liyuan, Fang Ming, Wei Wenhui, Feng Yadong, and Lv Yisong as Directors. The Electrical Engineering Committee of Zhejiang Alumni Association, Tsinghua University is an important platform for gathering EEA alumni in Zhejiang. It aims to strengthen communication and cooperation among alumni, and between alumni and EEA. In the future, the Committee will focus on the local context, establish platforms for communication and cooperation, strengthen the connection between local alumni and the alma mater, and promote common development.
