On the morning of April 11th, the award ceremony of “Tsinghua Friends - Orient Cable Scholarship for Outstanding Students” was successfully held in the meeting room of the West Main Building. Xia Chongyao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Ningbo Orient Wires & Cables Co., Ltd. (Orient Cable), Xia Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Orient Cable, Feng Beizhan, Secretary-General of China Rain Public Welfare Foundation, Pan Chuzhi, Vice President of Orient Cable, Hu Bohui, Chairman of the Labor Union and Director of Party Building and Compliance Department of Orient Cable, Chen Hong, Director of the Chairman’s Office of Ningbo Orient Group, Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), Tsinghua University, Shen Zhengbo, Deputy Director of the Student Financial Aid Management Center of Tsinghua University, Zheng Zedong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, Hu Wei, Assistant Dean and Director of the Office of EEA, Zhang Jie, Director of the Alumni Office and Employment Office of EEA, and Luo Jiao, Assistant of Student Affairs of EEA, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhong Haiwang, the head of the postgraduate student work group of EEA.
On behalf of all the teachers and students of EEA, Yu Xinjie warmly welcomes the guests and expresses gratitude to Orient Cable for donating scholarships and establishing a practice base for doctoral students, which provides strong support for the training of EEA students. Through scholarships and professional practice activities, the corporate culture can be well promoted and implemented among students, and at the same time, students can learn techniques, achieving a win-win effect.
Shen Zhengbo introduced the significance of professional practice for postgraduate students at Tsinghua University, and thanked outstanding companies in the industry for setting up professional practice bases, fully demonstrating the their high sense of social responsibility. He stated that as the department in charge of social practice for postgraduate students and scholarships, they work together with enterprises in practice-based education and teaching, improve the overall quality of postgraduate education, and jointly serve the national construction.
Xia Feng first congratulated the scholarship recipients and encouraged students to study hard and explore knowledge with deeper understanding. He then introduced the background, current development, and corporate vision of Orient Cable. In the end, he hope that the students present will further pursue excellence, surpass themselves, shoulder the high-quality development of Chinese-style modernization, and jointly promote the process of China’s national industry.
Zheng Zedong introduced the current student situation of EEA, the evaluation process of the Orient Cable Scholarship, the far-reaching significance brought by the establishment of student practice bases, saying that all of these are very important references and motivations for students’ future career planning.
Finally, Xia Feng and Feng Beizhan granted the winning students with award certificates. During the subsequent communication session, the students introduced their basic situation and research directions, and expressed their gratitude to the donor.
