On July 12, the 8th meeting of the 11th Council of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) and the 2022 working meeting were held in Beijing. The meeting announced the election result of 2021 Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering Fellow ( CSEE Fellow), and Sun Hongbin, a professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) of Tsinghua University, was elected as a CSEE Fellow.
Professor Sun Hongbin is mainly engaged in research on smart grid and energy Internet. In 2008, he won the second prize of the National Technology Invention Award (the second completer), and in 2018, he won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (the first completer). He has been successively selected as the Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation of the Ten Thousand Talents Program of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the National Ten Thousand Talent Project, the National Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution, IEEE Fellow, and IET Fellow. He has won the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and was enrolled in “Excellent Activity Publicity Group of Colleges and Universities in Beijing” and the “National Advanced Deeds Reporting Group of Teaching and Education Models” of the Ministry of Education. He has also twice won the first prize of national teaching achievements (respectively as the first and third completers).
CSEE is the largest academic corporate social organization in the field of electrical engineering in China. CSEE Fellow, the highest academic honor for a CSEE member, used to commend members who have created significant value in society and have made outstanding contributions to the work of CSEE. A CSEE member is selected by members based on a nomination (recommendation) system. In 2021, CSEE added 16 members, including 8 new members and 8 foreign members. The CSEE annual meeting has become the most influential annual academic event in the field of energy and power in China.
