Dear alumni of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics of Tsinghua University, brother universities, cooperative units, and friends from all walks of life:

In April 2022, at the 111th Anniversary of the Establishment of Tsinghua University, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics also celebrated its 90th anniversary. On April 23, a celebrating conference was successfully held at the New Tsinghua Lecture Hall, leaders and experts from relevant units, many alumni and friends from all walks of life attended the event, and more than 130,000 people participated in the online interaction through various network platforms, and the celebrating conference was a complete success.

Since its establishment, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) has been placing the cultivation of talents in the most important position, taking serving the country as the highest pursuit, and has cultivated a large number of academic masters, talents in business development, and pillar men of national governance. During the 90-year journey with wind and rain, the alumni of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics shined in their respective fields and made contributions to the economic and social development of the country; the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, in close cooperation with brother universities and cooperative units, has jointly promoted the discipline of electrical engineering and developed the electric power industry in China.

In the face of the overall strategy of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes unseen in the world in a century, the electric energy field is breeding a new technological revolution. The industrial structure adjustment and reconstruction under the dual carbon goal is unstoppable, and the progress of the party and the nation has put forward higher requirement for scientific knowledge and outstanding talents. These are not only the opportunities and challenges that all the EEA people will face, but also can be realized through cooperation with the forces from all walks of life. We hope that all alumni of EEA will maintain close contact with their alma mater while doing their jobs well, and continue playing the role of bridges in the fields of “production, studying, research, and application”, and develop hand in hand with EEA. Let’s work together for a new era of low-carbon and smart energy, and contribute to the bright future of the country and society!
