On the morning of January 8, 2022, the 2021 AnnualConference of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Safety Control and Simulation of Power Systems and Large Power Generation Equipment (hereinafter referred to as theLaboratory) was held in Conference Room 327 of the main building.For pandemic control as required by Beijing Government and Tsinghua University, this conference was held in the form of online and offline combination.14 membersfromtheAcademicCommittee of the Laboratory, including Academician Ma Weiming, Academician He Yaling, Academician Guo Jianbo, Academician Liu Jizhen, Academician Xia Changliang, Academician Tang Guangfu, Academician Wang Qiuliang, Academician Wang Chengshan, Professor Yang Qingxin, Professor Ju Ping, Professor Liao Ruijin, Professor Wen Jinyu, Professor Li Zheng and Professor Kang Chongqing,et al., and more than 70 teachers including academician Han Yingduo, directors andmain members of the laboratory participated online and offline. First of all, Professor Zeng Rong, director of thelaboratory, reported the progress of the laboratory work, as well asthe overview of the laboratory, progress and achievements ofmain work in 2021, and reform and development of the laboratory to the academic committee members, andmainly consulted about the orientation oflaboratory reform and development with the committee members.

Then, Professor Mei Shengwei, Associate Professor Yu Zhanqing, Associate Professor Sun Kai, and Professor Li Zhengmade special reports on four annual typical achievements, namely“Construction and Grid-incorporatedOperation of 60MW/300MWh Salt Cave Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Station in Jiangsu Jintan”, “Research and Development ofKey Technologies of Large-capacity DCCircuitBreaking and High, Middle and Low Voltage Serialized DC Breakers”,“Key Technology and Application of Large-scale Photovoltaic Energy Storage Converter Control Based on DC Bus Voltage Information”, “Research onChina’sLong-term Low-Carbon Development Strategy Supporting the Decision-making of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality”.

The members of the Academic Committee fully affirmed the annual work achievements of the laboratory and praised the representative achievements, and put forward many targeted opinions and suggestions in terms of top-level laboratory design, goal focus, research direction, major achievements, talent training, platform construction, and international influence.They expected to integrate scientific research forces at the national level, strengthen theexchange in the power field, and play a leading role in the research paradigm andintegration of basic research and applied researchin China.

Finally, Academician Han Yingduo put forward ardent expectations for the reform of the laboratory. The leadership team of the laboratory listened carefully to the suggestions of the members, and said that they will study the spirit of thisconference, fully implement the reform in the new year, and report better reform results to the members.
