On the morning of October 3, the Students’ Association for Science and Technologyof the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronicssuccessfully held the 11th “TI Cup” Digital System Innovation Design Competition Finals (hereinafter referred to as “TI Cup”) inroom3-102, West Main Building.Bi Daqiang, director of the Experimental Teaching Center, and Zhang Ling, leader of the Students’ Working Group of the Department, attended the finals.
The TI Cup,a competition sponsored by Texas Instruments and organized by the Students’ Association for Science and Technologyof the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, has been successfully held for eleventimes. A total of 32 teams signed up for this TI Cup.Bachelors, masters and doctors came from 12departments and schoolsincluding the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, Department of Precision Instrument, Department of Automation, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Weiyang Academy. Afterintensive competition, 14 teams entered the finals, and finally 4 teams came to the fore and won awards in the finals. Zhao Ziyan from Class 212 of the Department of Mechanical Engineeringwon the first prize of this competition with excellent performance. Xiao Yunhao, Dong Jiuzhou and Yang Ninghui fromClass 94 of the Department of Electrical Engineeringwon the second prize of this competition,Zhang Minghao, Sun Zelin and Chang Haofrom Class 94and Huang Kaidi, Pu Yu and Zheng Rundong fromClass93of the Department of Electrical Engineeringjointly won the third prize of this competition.
Thecompetitionthis yearisopenand innovative, and thechallenges havebroken through the routine.Competitors need to complete the task based on the MSP432 microcontroller provided by TI.A “digital labyrinth” is used as the arena for the trolley, there are no obstacles on the arena where the trolley actually moves, the trolley needs to communicate with the host computer to obtain the labyrinth information, calculate the action path and move by itself, and the host computer recognize the car and calculate the car score with a camera. All competitors performed well, with an average time of about 23 seconds, among them, Zhao Ziyan achieved a good result of 12.8 seconds in the second round.
Zhang Ling summarizedthis competition. First of all, Zhang Ling congratulated the successful holding of this TI Cup, saying that the TI Cup is a good competitive platform, and the setbacks encountered by the students in the science innovation competition will be a good step for adapting to the future scientific research life. Zhang Ling also affirmed the contributions ofcompetitors and event organizers, and emphasized that senior students can play a leading role for junior students, and said that the departments and science associations will increase their efforts to ensure thestudentshave time andenthusiasm to participate in science and technology activities.
The TI Cup is a traditional event organized by the Students’ Association for Science and Technologyof the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics.Italso received great concern and support from the students’ group of the departmentCPC committee, laboratory teachers, and senior membersof the future energy interest team, whohave provided great help for event organization, technology development and other links. This competitionpresented the spirit of the students to innovate and develop comprehensively. We hope thestudents can accumulate experience in science and technology innovation from this competition, and becometalentsrooted in the times and caring about the country.
