On May 24, Yu Xinjie, Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, Yu Zhanqing, Deputy Dean of EEA, Li Qi, Director of EEA Party Office, and Yi Chenyi, Deputy Director of the Institute of New Electrical Technology, were invited to Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry. Wu Changjiang, Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry, attended the exchange meeting, and Deputy Director Ma Ming presided over the meeting; Chief Expert Song Wenbo and heads of the Scientific Research Management Department, Technology Marketing Department and other departments also attended the meeting.
Director Wu Changjiang first welcomed the team from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, and Deputy Director Ma Ming introduced the participants from both sides. Secretary Yu Xinjie of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics introduced historical evolution, organizational structure, party building, and scientific research of EEA. Deputy Director Yu Zhanqing made a report on the research directions and typical achievements of the scientific research teams of the EEA. Then, Zhao Peng, deputy manager of the Scientific Research Management Office of Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry, introduced the development history, party building and scientific research of the institute. Li Qi introduced the progress of the cooperative research on "Grafted polypropylene insulating materials" carried out by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics and Sinopec Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry. Both parties at the meeting fully affirmed the cooperative research in the previous period; they discussed the market prospects, development plans and recent work plan on advanced polyolefin dielectric materials and reached a consensus: to work together and break through the technology of foreign monopoly on cable insulation materials and capacitor films, and create technologies with independent intellectual property rights to meet the national need in offshore wind power, national defense and aerospace. Finally, the two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on innovative technology development, school-enterprise cooperation, and joint construction of party branches, and agreed to integrate advantages of both parties, carry out cross-disciplinary cooperation in the power industry and new energy fields, jointly promote the independent innovating capability of China's power energy industry and petrochemical industry, and develop competitive technologies.
