On January 12, 2021, the Opening Ceremony of the Joint Laboratory of Electromagnetic Field and Multi-physical Field Simulation Jointly Established by EEA, Tsinghua University and Internet Based Engineering and also the Donating Ceremony of SimdroidSoftwarewere held in the Conference Room 2, West Main Building of Tsinghua University. Qu Kaifeng, chairman of Beijing Internet Based Engineering, and Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, attended the ceremony. Also present at the ceremony were Professor Zhu Guiping, Deputy Dean of EEA, Professor Zhao Wei, Executive Director of the Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, Professor Huang Songling, leader of the team of Electromagnetic Testing and Equipment Performance and Safety Assessment of EEA, Professor Zou Jun, Director of the Electrical Engineering Teaching Laboratory of EEA, Chairman Assistants Yang Peng and Li Bai, General Manager Wang Yu and Deputy General Manager Li Wang of Beijing Internet Based Engineering Co., Ltd., and Liu Gaosheng, Chairman of the Beijing Center of National Innovation Institute of Digital Design and Manufacturing. The ceremony of laboratory establishment and software donation was presided over by Professor Zhu Guiping, Deputy Dean of EEA, Tsinghua University.

Professor Huang Songling briefly introduced the background of cooperation between Internet Based Engineering and Tsinghua University. Dr. Qu Kaifeng, founder of Internet Based Engineering and graduated from EEA, Tsinghua University, is committed to the inclusive development of simulation technology from starting a business to taking the lead in the industry. Internet Based Engineering has been in a close cooperative relationship with the EEA since it was establishment. Internet Based Engineering and Professor Huang Songling's Team of EEA, Tsinghua University have jointly completed a number of industrial Internet industrialization projects of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, carried out in-depth cooperation in the development of multi-physical field simulation software, and advanced the domestic chemical industry simulation software Simdroid to a higher level.

Qu Kaifeng introduced the outstanding achievements of Internet Based Engineering in the research and development of modern industrial simulation software. Internet Based Engineering, as the major force of domestic industrial simulation software development, is dedicated to developing the industrial Internet platform at the R&D end, and realizing the localization of simulation software and popularization of simulation technology. He expressed the hope to further cooperate with Tsinghua University and jointly solve key problems to satisfy the major demands of the country.

Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Tsinghua University, thanked Internet Based Engineering for donating the Simdroid simulation software, and affirmed and congratulated the establishment of the Joint Laboratory of Electromagnetic Field and Multi-physical Field Simulation. In his speech, he stressed that the EEA always adheres to the fine tradition of Tsinghua University and attaches great importance to the training and teaching of students. However, advanced electromagnetic field simulation software mainly depends on foreign countries and is expensive, so it is difficult for students to get convenient and effective support in using. The Simdroid simulation software developed by Internet Based Engineering has effectively solved this problem. It supports multi-physical field simulation, which is of great benefit to broaden students' knowledge and help students master deep-seated discipline theory. In addition, Professor Kang Chongqing expressed his heartfelt thanks to the alumni of EEA for their selfless dedication.

Then, Kang Chongqing, on behalf of EEA, Tsinghua University Electric Machinery Department, and Qu Kaifeng on behalf of Internet Based Engineering, signed and unveiled the laboratory. Zhu Guiping accepted the software donated by Internet Based Engineering on behalf of EEA, Tsinghua University.
