On the morning of June 30, the appraisal meeting of scientific and technological achievement for the project "Power System - Technology and Application of Intelligent Network Source Coordination and Optimization Control" organized by China Electrotechnical Society was held in the form of a network video meeting. The appraisal committee consists of 7 experts including Cheng Shijie, Academician of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Ju Ping, former Vice President of Hohai University, Professor Bi Tianshu, Vice President of North China Electric Power University, Professor Liu Junyong, former Dean of College of Electrical Engineering, Sichuan University, Professor Sun Huadong, Vice President of China Electric Power Research Institute, Professor Wang Hui, Chief Engineer of Central Southern China Electric Power Design Institute, China Power Engineering Consulting Group, and Professor Li Qunju of Electric Power Science Research Institute, State Grid Jibei Electric Power Company Limited. 20 people including Professor Kang Chongqing, Professor Min Yong, Associate Professor Lu Zongxiang, Associate Professor Hu Wei, and Associate Professor Chen Lei, et al of EEA, Tsinghua University, and representatives from State Power Dispatching and Control Center of State Grid, State Grid Hubei Electric Power Company, Southwest Branch of State Grid, State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company, Inner Mongolia Electric Power (Group) Company, State Grid Liaoning Electric Power Company and Central China Branch of State Grid participated in this appraisal meeting.

The appraisal meeting is presided over by Liu Miao, Director of China Electrotechnical Society. At the appraisal meeting, Professor Kang Chongqing, Dean of EEA, Tsinghua University, first delivered a speech on behalf of the project completion units, thanked the China Electrotechnical Society for their support to Tsinghua EEA for many years, briefly introduced the development of EEA in scientific research in recent years, and thanked the cooperative units in the industry.

Then, Professor Min Yong, Associate Professor Hu Wei, Associate Professor Lu Zongxiang and Associate Professor Chen Lei of the EEA Team of New Energy Power System Dynamics and Operation delivered the work report, technical report, application benefit analysis report and technical novelty search report respectively. With the support of the National 863 Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Project and the Science and Technology Project of State Grid and the joint efforts of colleges and universities and power grid enterprises, the project team began to solve the difficulties in power system network source coordination and optimization control since 2007, carried out research focusing on the core problems of power system network source coordination and optimization control in three points: on-line comprehensive assessment upon the regulation characteristics of network source equipment, normal state optimization control and disaster critical state emergency control, completed theoretical breakthroughs, technical breakthroughs, system R&D and engineering application, and realized significant economic and social benefits.

Having listened to the reports of the project team, the experts of the appraisal committee unanimously affirmed the major breakthroughs made by the project team in the research field of network source coordination and optimization control after questioning, answering and discussing. It is considered that the power system - intelligent network source coordination and optimization control system constructed by the project has been successfully applied and significantly improved the level of safe and economic operation of the power system and the capacity against large-scale blackouts. After discussion, the experts of the project appraisal committee agreed that "the project has made a number of innovative achievement and is comprehensively at the internationally advanced level".

After the appraisal meeting, Associate Professor Lu Zongxiang, Deputy Dean of Tsinghua EEA, and Professor Dong Yu, Secretary of the State Power Dispatching and Control Center, respectively delivered speeches and heartfelt thanks to the appraisal experts and China Electrotechnical Society for their great support.
