From October 12 to 14, 2018, the 2018 National Academic Conference on High Voltage & Discharge Plasma was held in Nanjing. Prof. He Jinliang of Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) was invited to make a report entitled Building the Future Intelligent Grids, introducing the development tendency and multiple technical resolutions of smart grids. The report was responsive and interactive.

Associate Prof. Luo Haiyun of the DEE was invited to deliver a report entitled the Research of Atmospheric DBD Plasma Sterilization at the sub-venue of biomedicine and agricultural & food processing.

The two reports entitled the Experimental Study on Follow Cathode Discharge and the Comparison of Discharge-induced Explosion in the Melted Copper Wire in Different Energy-stored Capacitors made by doctoral students Hou Xinyu and Li Liuxia under instructions Prof. Wang Xinxin in the DEE, were awarded the Excellent Presentation Award by the Organizing Committee of the Conference.
Doctoral Student Sun Hao got the Excellent Poster Report Award by the Organizing Committee of the Conference by virtue of his Study on Performance Improvement of Inductance Energy-storage Pulsed Power Supply in the Low Temperature under guide of Prof. Yu Yinjie of the DEE.

More than 460 academic papers were collected at the 2018 National Academic Conference on High Voltage & Discharge Plasma, nearly 200 of which are made in full Chinese-English. There were six sub-venues of oral presentation involving in high voltage (HV), pulsed power and the basic process and application of plasma, as well as nearly 200 poster exhibitions. Experts and scholars from such universities and institutes as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, South China University of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, Institute of Electrical Engineering CAS, and Institute of Plasma Physics CAS, carried out in-depth exploration and exchanges aiming at basic and leading-edge hot issues in HV and discharge plasma disciplines as well as the application issues closely related to the national economic construction. 15 excellent papers, 30 excellent oral presentations and 15 excellent poster exhibitions were elected at the Conference.
