报告简介:In the presentation, basic energy policy and related technical demonstration projects in Japan will be introduced, which include demand response and PV integration programs. Currently, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has been accelerating so called “Virtual Power Plants” (VPP) with a provision that more and more distributed energy resources will be installed on consumer side. In relation to these movements, some of the works which have been and will be done by Waseda University will be presented.

Prof. Hideo Ishii
Biography:
Hideo Ishii was born on July 18, 1962. He received B.E. and M.E. degrees in Applied Physics from the University of Tokyo in 1986 and 1988, respectively. He joined Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) in 1988. He was a visiting scientist in Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1989 to 1991. He received Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1996. From 2012 to 2014, he was Deputy General Manager of Technology R&D Department and also a Group Manager of Smart Grid
Strategy Group in Tokyo Electric Power Company, and was engaged in some major smart grid related National projects in Japan as an organizer. He is now a Professor with Advanced Collaborative Research Organization for Smart Society (ACROSS) in Waseda University. His current activity is in Electric Energy System, especially regarding Demand Response and integration of renewable energy. He has been Chief Director of Japan ADR Association since 2013.
