报告内容:

With deep penetration of variable resources such as wind and solar, it is becoming increasingly important to leverage flexibility from demand side. The central difference in the new paradigm compared with conventional operation is that demand response can be highly uncertain with human behavior in the loop. In this talk, we first introduce a dynamic systems approach to modeling price responsive demand at the wholesale level, based on empirical data. We then discuss a possible paradigm of engaging retail-level customers via voluntary Energy Coupon. We conclude the talk with a possible architecture that allows the ISO to achieve social welfare optimum with the presence of stochastic decision making of large number of participants.

报告人简介:

Dr. Le Xie is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University.
