Liuchen Chang received the B.Sc. degree Beijing Northern Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, in 1982, the M.Sc. degree from the China Academy of Railway Sciences, Beijing, China, in 1984, and the Ph.D. degree from Queen’s University, Canada, in 1991. He has been with the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Brunswick for the past 23 years.
Prof. Chang is a fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering, and a recipient of R. J. Templin Award, for his contributions to distributed generation and renewable energy systems. He has published over 260 papers. He is actively involved in IEEE volunteer services, and is the General Chair of ECCE 2015.
His principal research interests and experience include direct load control, distributed power generation, renewable energy, and power electronics.
