题目:Future Operation, Protection and Monitoring of Decarbonised Power and Energy Systems脱碳电力与能源系统的未来运行、保护与监测

报告简介

Electrical power systems are undergoing a fundamental transition from conventional synchronous machine-based networks towards converter-dominated systems characterised by renewable generation, energy storage, flexible demand and extensive power electronic interfacing. While this transition is essential for achieving net-zero objectives, it also creates significant challenges for system operation, protection, monitoring and control.

This presentation will briefly cover the history and evolution of electrical power systems in the UK, and will illustrate how decarbonisation of both energy sources and loads is leading to significant changes in network behaviour and complexity. These changes include declining system inertia, altered fault characteristics, increasing network complexity, uncertainty and rapidly growing volumes of operational data. Examples of research and industrial projects from the United Kingdom will be presented, and emerging approaches to system planning and operation, wide-area monitoring, digital twins, and power system protection systems will be described.

电力系统正经历根本性变革:传统以同步电机为核心的电网,逐步向变流器主导型系统演进。新型系统以新能源发电、储能、柔性负荷为主体,大量设备依托电力电子装置接入电网。尽管这场转型是实现净零排放目标的必经之路,但也给系统运行、保护、监测与控制带来巨大挑战。

本次报告将简要回顾英国电力系统的发展历程,阐释能源供给侧与负荷侧脱碳,如何造成电网特性与复杂程度发生深刻变化。这些变化体现为系统惯量持续下降、故障特征改变、电网复杂度提升、运行不确定性增加,以及运行数据规模爆发式增长。报告将列举英国各类科研与产业项目实例,介绍在系统规划运行、广域监测、数字孪生、电力系统保护领域涌现的各类新技术方案。

报告人简介

Professor Campbell Booth is Associate Principal at the University of Strathclyde and Executive Dean for the Faculty of Engineering at Strathclyde. The Faculty comprises more that 1,000 staff across 8 departments, several innovation centres, more than 6,000 students, and is one of the largest Engineering faculties in the UK. Now in the 40th year of his Strathclyde journey - which began when he joined as an undergraduate EEE student in 1987 - his research is focussed on electrical power system protection and monitoring. He is presently overall Principal Investigator (PI) of a major EPSRC “Prosperity Partnership” project, Ensign, with SP Energy Networks, the Universities of Saint Andrew’s, Liverpool and Heriot Watt, plus various other partners. He has led major projects with National Grid, ScottishPower, and recently completed an EPSRC UK-China grant. He has almost 300 publications, holds patents, and is co-founder of Synaptec, a Strathclyde spinout working in distributed sensing for monitoring applications, which recently received significant investment to support growth. He has delivered several invited talks, chaired the IET’s Developments in Power System Protection conference, and is active on various industry working groups.

坎贝尔・布斯教授现任思克莱德大学副校长,同时担任该校工程学院执行院长。该学院下设 8 个系部与多个创新中心,教职工逾 1000 人,学生规模超 6000 名,是英国规模最大的工程学院之一。

布斯教授与思克莱德大学的渊源已有 40 载,他于 1987 年入校,攻读电子与电气工程本科,之后获得博士学位。其研究方向聚焦于电力系统保护与监测。目前,他担任英国工程与物理科学研究委员会(EPSRC)重大 “繁荣伙伴计划”(Prosperity Partnership) 项目ENSIGN的总首席研究员,合作单位包括苏格兰能源网络公司 (SP Energy Networks)、圣安德鲁斯大学、利物浦大学、赫瑞‑瓦特大学以及多家机构。

他曾牵头EFCC, Phoenix等重点项目,还与清华大学电机系董新洲教授共同领导完成一项 EPSRC 与国家自然科学基金委联合资助的中英合作科研项目。布斯教授发表了众多的高水平学术论文,持有多项发明专利,同时是思克莱德大学衍生企业 Synaptec 的联合创始人;这家企业主攻分布式传感监测技术,于 2024 年获得融资助力业务发展。他多次受邀做特邀报告,曾担任 IET 电力系统保护进展国际会议(DPSP)主席,并活跃于多个行业工作组。
